Target has been accepting Google Pay since November 2018, making the checkout process even more easy and convenient!
In addition to Google Pay, Target accepts any contactless digital wallet including Apple Pay and Samsung Pay.
What payment methods does Target accept?
Target accepts almost every other type of payment including:

- Personal checks
- Target RedCard (unfortunately, RedCard’s cannot be added to digital wallets like Apple Pay at this time)
- Target App (you can add your RedCard to the Target App and checkout by scanning the barcode in the App)
- Major credit cards: VISA, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, Novus, etc.
- Debit/ATM cards
- Target gift cards
- Target gift certificates
- Target Merchandise vouchers
- EBT
- WIC
Paypal is only accepted on Target.com or on the Target app.
How to use your iPhone to pay at Target
To use your iPhone or other contactless payment methods at Target stores, simply hold your contactless card, mobile device or wearable over the card reader screen to initiate payment until the confirmation that the payment was successful displays on the screen.
You will then follow the prompts on your device or card reader screen.
This can be done at any time while you check out, when the card reader is ready for payment, including while the cashier is still scanning items.
Any contactless payment type can be accepted.
