To use your iPhone or other contactless payment methods at Target stores, simply hold your contactless card, mobile device or wearable over the card reader screen to initiate payment until the confirmation that the payment was successful displays on the screen.

You will then follow the prompts on your device or card reader screen.

This can be done at any time while you check out, when the card reader is ready for payment, including while the cashier is still scanning items.

Any contactless payment type can be accepted.

Some examples of contactless payment types are:

  • Contactless credit/debit cards printed with this symbol:  User-added image
  • Mobile phone digital wallets such as Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, and Google Pay
  • Wearables with payment enabled such as your Apple Watch or Fitbit Pay

You can also use your iPhone to pay at Target through the Target App.

The Target App has a wallet feature that simplifies the checkout process in store by using a single barcode to apply Target Circle offers, Target Circle earnings, Weekly Ad coupons, Target team member discounts, cash withdrawal (for Target Debit Card only), Target GiftCard payments, and RedCard payments, including Target Debit Card, Target Credit Card and Target Mastercard.

If you have a Target Red Card, you can use it in the Target App.

When using the Target App, Target Circle Points (this is Target’s reward program) are automatically saved.

If you are using another form of payment other than the Target App, be sure to enter your phone number before checking out so that you can collect and redeem your Target Circle balance.

Target accepts all major forms of payment including digital wallets like Google Pay, Apple Pay and Samsung Pay at all of their stores.

You can also download the Target App and upload the Target Red Card and use that to pay via a simple barcode scan at checkout.
