Most Samsung TVs usually have the same problem of not turning on for many unknown reasons.
There are several instances of Samsung TV users reporting having this challenge; some even said they have been dealing with it for some time!
Good enough, there is a simple solution that should turn on about 80% of Samsung TVs.
Unable to switch on Samsung TV?
You must reset your Samsung TV if it doesn’t turn on. Wait 60 seconds after disconnecting your TV from the power source.
Press the power button for 30 seconds while the TV remains unplugged.
Reconnect the power to your Samsung TV after 60 seconds, and it should function.
Unplug the Samsung TV from the wall
The most popular approach to get your Samsung TV to switch back on again, despite the fact that this solution may seem apparent, is to remove the power cable from the wall socket.
The most important thing is to wait till 60 seconds is complete.
Before plugging it back in, exercise patience and wait until it has been at least a minute.
Identify and press down your Samsung TV’s power button for 30 seconds while it’s not connected.
Make sure that you are pressing the power button on the TV and not the remote control.
This will allow the TV to soft reset itself and facilitate the draining of any remaining power in it.
This is different from just simply turning the remote off and on!
After 60 seconds, plug the TV in again, and it should come up effortlessly.
While this solution should be effective in about 75% of situations, the other 25% can be more challenging.
Try the methods listed below if you’re still having difficulties getting your Samsung TV to switch back on.
Remove the batteries from the Samsung Remote
If putting your TV back in and disconnecting it again didn’t help, try removing the batteries from your remote.
Make sure the remote’s two batteries are entirely removed.
After removing the batteries, press and hold the remote’s power button for 30 seconds, do this once more for a total of 30 seconds!
30 seconds, not 10! Replace the batteries in the remote and attempt to switch on the TV once the entire 30 seconds have passed.
It should turn back on. To be safe, you might wish to install a fresh set of batteries at this stage.
You should consider factory resetting your TV for a more long-lasting cure if one of the two techniques above fixes your Samsung TV power problem, but then you get the same problem a few days or weeks later.
Samsung TV factory reset
Click the Home button on your remote control once the TV is on (ideally, disconnecting it or taking the batteries out of the remote to power it briefly).
Go to Settings > General > Reset after that. Enter “0000” if you’ve never set a security PIN before.
The initial configuration screen will appear once your TV turns off and back on.

Samsung TV factory reset without the remote
You may still factory reset your Samsung TV even if you are not in possession of the TV remote for whatever reason.
The power button on your TV must be located for this.
This may be on the device’s right side, left side, or very bottom, depending on the model you have.
When the TV is on, switch to Settings > General > Reset by pressing the Menu button on the TV.
There are additional solutions if you can’t see these buttons on your TV or if it’s situated in an awkward place.
To start, think about connecting a USB keyboard straight to the back of your Samsung TV.
The TV may then be navigated and reset using the keyboard. If you possess a Samsung Smart TV, you may also use your smartphone to download the Samsung SmartThings app.
You may use your smartphone as a remote after your TV is connected to the app!
As a last resort, you might use a spare universal remote control after programming it with the correct Samsung code.
You should now have completely repaired your power problems, but just in case, I’ve added a few extra procedures worth attempting before giving up.
Reset the Samsung TV’s power cable
To solve your power issue, you might also try unplugging the TV’s power cord from the rear.
After around 60 seconds of being unplugged, plug it back in. Make sure the connection is secure when you re-plug it!
A tight connection is necessary to guarantee that the TV is receiving steady power; therefore, you don’t want it to be at all slack.
Reconnect the power cord and turn on the TV by pressing the TV power button, not the remote!
Hopefully, you can see the TV turn on again.
Select the Proper Input Source
Due to an improper input source, your Samsung TV may not appear to switch on.
To ensure that your TV operates properly, select the right input source.
Make sure your TV source/input matches the number of HDMI ports being utilized, whether you’re using a streaming device, DVD player, or cable box.
Turning the TV to “HDMI 2” in the example below.
There are two ways to choose the appropriate input source:
Method 1 – Use the remote control to activate the input source
Method 2 – Change the input source without using the remote
Note: You may choose your favourite input source on certain TVs by pressing the source button on the back or side of the device.
Change the power outlet if necessary
If you’re still experiencing trouble, try putting your Samsung TV into a different power outlet in your house.
However, it’s doubtful that this would solve the problem.
Sometimes a short or blown fuse in an outlet goes entirely unnoticed. If you don’t want to carry your TV around, you may just take a smaller appliance and plug it into the socket you’re trying to use for your TV.
If it happens that the appliance turns on, the outlet in question is likely working properly; therefore that is not the issue. Although, as I said, this is probably not the issue, eliminating it as a suspect right away is an important step in the debugging process.
Broken Backlight
If nothing has worked up to this point, it’s quite likely that your Samsung TV’s backlight is faulty.
Putting your Tv on and then bringing a flashlight close to its screen can help to know whether or not this is the problem. Pay close attention to see whether there is an image on the screen when you flash the light.
Your TV’s backlight likely needs to be replaced if you notice an image starting to appear but it is dim.
Faulty Motherboard
Your motherboard could have become faulty if there was a recent storm.
Unfortunately, removing the Samsung TV’s back panelling is the only way to be certain.
The motherboard is often on the left, and the power board is on the right once you’ve done this.
You should plug in your TV, switch it on, and then disconnect the cable that connects the motherboard to the power board from the power board side to make sure the problem is not with the power board.
If the TV powers on, the power board is working fine, and the motherboard is malfunctioning.
Simply make sure you buy the proper one by comparing the serial numbers on the previous motherboard before making your purchase.
Replaceable motherboards are inexpensive.
You may also ask a TV repairman for assistance if you don’t feel comfortable trying to fix it yourself.
